This thread is for all the folks out there considering testing for 4th Black according to the American Kenpo Legacy Association. In addition to performing the Defender Level core material and physical examination, one must execute the American Kenpo Karambit Set #1 and American Kenpo Long Form #6. I assume these forms/sets will be graded according to the same criteria as the core material. One quick question about the karambit set-Does one need an actual karambit or will a facsimile suffice?
If anyone else out there is considering testing for 4th Black just drop me a note or throw out an idea on this thread.
Thanks,

When you are ready to take your examination, contact us directly to receive your testing package. 4th Black does require the Karambit Set #1 as a compulsory form. However, Long #6 is considered an elective form since it is required for 2nd Black. Click here and follow the links for more information about the Advanced Kenpo Ranking Tests.

Yes, you may utilize either a real or safety karambit.
