We really appreciate the new download - Toughness Training!

What's really amazing is that it was given to us - FREE!

We have dissected it and even posted quotes of it in our training hall. It have really affected our attitude to training. What's really cool about it is how it makes you watch your attitude at all times. It's hard to believe that something like this can be have such affect on training progress.

Thanks again Eric!

Thank you very much for the kind compliments. I can't stress enough the importance of Toughness Training. It will make all the difference in your training and even your life.

I would like to use this thread ("Getting Tough") as a means of discussing Toughness Training. This can be used as question/answer forum or for general discussion. I suggest that those who have read the free download to share their experiences before and after applying its principles.

One of the focal points and and driving points that influenced Eric and me in developing the Elite-Fighters System of Martial Arts is the ethics that we received from a very good instructor several years ago. He shared a poem to keep in mind whenever we trained and created new material. You should consider it as well, as you train and understand our art:

THE CAREFUL BUILDER

I saw them tearing a building down - a gang of men, in my hometown.

With a heave, and a ho, and a 'yes, yes!' yell They swung a beam, and a sidewall fell.

I said to the foreman, "Are these men skilled? Like the ones you'd use if you had to build?"

He laughed and said, "Oh, no! Indeed! The most common labor's all I need. Because I can destroy, in a day or two, what it takes a builder ten years to do."

And I thought to myself, as I went my way - Which of these roles am I willing to play?

Am I one, who's tearing down, as I carelessly make my way around?

Or am I one who builds with care? So my family, my community, is just a little better, because I was there.
