I just got my Defender level training package. I'm really impressed! In the past I had gotten most of your american kenpo materials from www.arnis.org so I was curious when I saw the link off of your other web site. What has really caught my attention is the section of the geometric combat theory. I am a high school math teacher and have tried to use mathematics as an approach to martial arts. I tell you, this makes sense. I had always thought of a statistical approach instead a geometric. Very Good!

I am also impressed with the turn around time. I had to order though the mail and was expecting the shipment in a couple of weeks. But a 6 day turn around time is great!!!

After reading and trying out some of the practice combat scenarios, I have found the manual to be very straightforward and concise. It is a very good fit coming from my kenpo and judo background. I will start the workout program next week. So, now I am a freshman in a new art and I welcome it.
Just call me Grasshopper ;)

Thank you for the kind words. The Defender Level is only the beginning. There are even more exciting things in the future.

Keep Training,

I just got my package yesterday. I am impressed too! My background is from The Karate Connection - Chuck Sullivan's system. They only have about 56 self defense techniques and a 'master form' with all of the techniques in them.

The difference I see here is, you look at all of the possibilities of the attack, and any probable attack - you have a combat scenario for. This is great! In my other style I craved more techniques, but you have them, and they are not redundant, like another kenpo style that I studied! Your method of harmonic analysis really makes sense in how to pull it all together and be able to respond instantaneously.

Good job guys! Sorry about my initial - umm - Skepticism

Thank you for your comment.

We designed this system to expose the student to the most common forms of attack. In doing so, he will be less likely to be surprised in combat. Remember, though, that the Practice Combat Scenarios are not answers to these attacks, but rather a method of training the tactics and strategies of the system in an organized manner. Study these PCS's closely to understand their connection to the Root Techniques and their interrelationship with Harmonic Analysis.

Bravo! I believe this system will separate the wheat from the chaff early on. It appears to be a harmonious blend of theory and practice. The training guide is well constructed and user friendly. Bravo on the clusters also! This system finally gives a true warrior-scholar something to chew on. I also appreciate the following details: proper grammar, clarity of style, no bogus stories about how you have used this or that technique in multiple life encounters, no "family tree" or "holy temple" connection, and no condescension of other styles (even if they deserve it). Where was all of this when I started eight years ago?
Thank You!

Ryan,

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I really appreciate them. If you like what you see now, just wait!

Don't forget to use your personal password to view the Praetorium. I am posting content that will help you in your training. While you are there, take a look at the Rules of Engagement. Although we will not examine these in detail until the Protector Level, I feel that they are important enough to show them to you now.

Congratulations and Good Luck!

I had a chance to impress a few kenpo guys this last week. I was up in Allentown, PA this week and went to a kenpo school that is associated with some guy who promoted himself to 10th black. Anyway, these guys saw me practicing some of the PCS with my wife and wondered what it was. Well, one guy challenged me with a nasty attitude and said it wouldn't hold up against his WKKA stuff. It appears they have been snooping on this web site. To make a long story short, he was dropped like a sack of potatoes! What he didn't know was I knew what he was going to do. He didn't know I have a kenpo background, and he surely didn't know what elite-fighters was. So, I used that strategy against him. No problem. What I like is how I am moving better now that I am an Elite-Fighter practitioner compared to my kenpo days.

Well, they decided to run the gauntlet on me and started lining up their black belts. Again no problem. It seems as though the kenpo guys try to stay so stiff and edge in close. I destroyed their base and never let them get set within my attack line. Everytime they started to move their base in position - wham! Thanks Kevin and Eric for sharing that with me. Enough bragging - but I wanted share a new experience. (My wife really got into it ;) thanks again!)

Keep up the good work representing the Elite-Fighters. Try not to hurt so many.

You must have really impressed them, indeed. This week three members of that school have begun their training with our program!

I've had the same experience as Cord. I went to a shaolin-do school in Lexington. I simply asked if I could train with them - I did not challenge anyone. Some were just intimidated by the uniform. But a couple of black belts said that wanted to 'try' me. Had I not been training as hard as I have been, using the Defender Training Guide, I may have had trouble. One guy was really fast, but my speed and stamina is the best that has been in years. I had not trouble in converting him to our system. He's now going to train with us the Bardstown. This all reminds me of my early days!
