While analyzing martial arts strike, techniques, etc. in our DVDs, certain devices were used to obtain good experimental data. Many ask where these can be purchased. Here is a list of some of the basic devices that should be affordable to you:
Herman: Digital Trainer (http://www.centuryfitness.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10051&storeId=10051&productId=84098&langId=-1&categoryId=13501&top=y) - this measures the power of your strikes, and has many modes of operation - Highly recommended.
HitMaster (http://www.impacttrainingsystems.com/HitMaster.html) - measures speed, reaction time, and has many modes of operation - Highly Recommended.
Speed CheckR (http://www.arborsci.com/detail.aspx?ID=833) - measures the velocity of a strike. A bit pricey, but essential if you want true velocity versus speed.
These are the main esentials. There are more that you will see in our DVDs, but the above listed items should help you to get your Martial Arts Lab up and running.
