I've recently started my martial arts training in various syles of kung fu. Plus my instructor has I believe (if my memory serves me right) a 4th degree black belt in Kenpo. But the way he and his master and his master all utalize this is completely in the form of Kung fu in the way they use energy and stuff. So we see it as kung fu not Karate. But I can not find any resources as to anybody else doing this.
Is this extreemly uncommon? For I have wittnessed training of both sides and I feel in this form it is very, very effective.

hi!
Ed Parker's Tacher, Profesor Chow, taught Chinese Kenpo, then KAra Ho Kenpo. It looked like Kung Fu.
Kenpo = Chuan Fa = kung fu, since it is Chinese in origin.
The forms of American Kenpo, where made by Ed parker and a Kung Fu practitioner. There are forms that originally wherer part of Kenpo, which are part of Hung gar, like Tiger and Crane, Panther set, etc.
So you can call it Kung fu. Also, those taht call themselves Sifu instead of professor, are using Kenpo in a "kung fu like" way.
Also, the part of KArate was a marketing move. It should be Kenpo jujitsu, or just Kenpo.

Martial Art styles are different styles of Teaching, not different styles of Fighting... thank you for those great words of wisdom!
It synthesizes my thoughts for the past years as my awareness of the unifying principles of fighting and training have developed...
Many in the JKD/Wing Chun circles fight ALIKE after several years of training!!! Even several Kyokushin practitioners, for example!! MAny other stylists have met a similar fate! They all fight alike!!
The difference is their training methods!
This is VERY important to notice!
Sincerely,
