Dear Authors of the karambit material,

Thankyou for making the product. It was thoughtful, innovative and useful. Having made a life study of weapons, it was nice to see the Karambit put to Kenpo. Are there going to be more products involving the Karambit (possibly self defense against it and other exotic weapons?)

Other note of point: Karambits are illegal here in Canada, I have a nice wooden toy one to practice with :( As my assistant pointed out, it looks like half a pair of scissors or pruners.

The Karambit is the first in our series on Exotic weaponry. Advanced training manuals and other exotic weapons are forthcoming.

I understand your dilemma in possessing a karambit, but many of these training methods can be extended to other weapons. Try practicing these methods with a small pocket knife and discover new applications

Maximus,

I found several types of objects that are good replacements for the "Kenpo Karambit".

One particularly interesting similar device is the Linoleum Knife, it works nearly identical to a karambit, only missing the finger break extensions. It was comfortable to work with in all grips, forward, reverse and middle knuckle grip.

the other major type of knife that I like to use with the information are Hawksbill bladed pocket knives, there are many of these to choose from as many low priced imports are showing up. All work well with the material provided.

As an experiment, I have added a "whip" to the back of the knife handle, it helps in limb immobilizing, cartoid restraining, and sometimes it is just handy to have a piece of chained rope (don't know what else to call the lattice pattern) but it's a 8 inch lattice, that if pulled, becomes several feet of straight rope. The lattice is good for cleaning your hands while fishing etc..
